volunteer work Bee - May 7, 2019

Vertical Divider
It was a small but mighty group that gathered to organize and sort these pre-assembled boxes to go. Nope - the boxes are not full of Girl Guide Cookies!  However, thanks to the donation of these empty boxes from our local Girl Guides volunteers and the hall space from the Anglican Church volunteers were able to assemble "Kitchen to go Boxes".

Volunteers put together an assembly line to fill the boxes with silverware, cooking utensils, tea towels, potato peelers, can openers, etc. - typical items clients need in their homes.

By assembling these items in the "Kitchen to go Boxes" it makes it so much easier for our volunteers during clients deliveries.
Volunteers also help assemble "Bathroom to go Boxes" and "Bedding to go Boxes".
Just grab a kit and go!

And yes, that storage unit looks mighty bare - it's because the Fort Saskatchewan Furniture Bank has acquired a third unit as of May 7th!  With more requests for help, keeping enough inventory in stock and managing the units has became harder and harder.  This third unit will allow for improved use of the storage space and the ability to keep more stock on hand.
