volunteer appreciation dinner January 26, 2018
Thirty volunteers braved the snowy weather and attended the first annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, held in the basement of the Fort Saskatchewan Community Baptist Church. There's nothing better in the tummy than homemade food and with a multitude of dishes, everyone was filled to the rim! We are a volunteer-run organization and it was nice to have so many of our volunteers, who take time out of their busy days, be able to come and just relax for a change.
Homemade food was a sincere way to "thank" those volunteers who truly make a difference in our community! All the Directors pitched in with the set-up and clean-up as a tribute to those who pack "kitchen to go bags", straighten out the units, carry tons of furniture up and down stairs, just to mention some of the hands on work that has been done over the last year.
Just for fun we had a quiz on some of our activities over the last year: 58 clients (57 actual moves); 675 followers on our Facebook page; our top post was the introduction of our Logo (designed by Karen Hipson) with a reach of 4,300 Facebook users; our average turnaround time from contact by client to delivery of furniture is 3.5 days; and in the last year we had 7 deliveries that took place the same day the client contacted us! Just some of the stats to be celebrated.
It was just a matter of time and we had our great volunteers "hamming it" up for the camera:
